Jenny L. Devine is an appellate attorney in the Tampa division of the Federal Defender's Office. She has practiced law since 2003 and has experience spanning federal and state criminal defense litigation from arrest through post-conviction relief. Ms. Devine's concentration in federal appellate work has achieved numerous reversals for her clients. She is a triple Gator who graduated summa cum laude in 1999 from the University of Florida with a B.A. in History (thesis: "The Narrative of Lynchings: A Study of Florida Mob Violence and the Press, 1900-1940"), and in 2003 from the University of Florida's combination degree program with a J.D. and M.A. in History (thesis: "An Execution By Slow Torture: The Death of Martin Tabert and Florida's Convict-Lease System"). She has co-authored legal publications in a psychiatric medical text and the NACDL Champion involving advocacy for clients with mental health issues.
