Steve Langs has been practicing criminal defense for more than 24 years. Born and raised in Detroit, Mr. Langs attended the University of Michigan and worked for the Detroit Red Wings before going to law school in Massachusetts. He was the Note Editor and staff member on the Law Review and graduated cum laude. In 1998, Mr. Langs began his career in indigent defense as an Assistant State Public Defender in Seminole County when he moved to Florida. He has been with the Federal Defender's Office, MDFL, for more than 20 years, pursuing trial, appellate, habeas, and post-conviction matters. Mr. Langs works in the Appellate Division and welcomes any opportunity to discuss and explore how to better improve our ideas and systems of criminal justice and defense.
